Every winter my children start asking for hot chocolate mix, because you can’t have winter without hot chocolate. This homemade hot chocolate mix comes together very quickly and tastes great.
Once the mix is made, you can have rich, tasty hot chocolate by just adding hot water. Although, some members of my family like to add the mix to their coffee to make “choffee”.

This recipe is very forgiving so don’t get too hung up on the sizes given in the recipe. Also, I like mine really rich if you don’t like yours super rich just put less mix in the cup.
If you’re looking for a quick homemade gift, just put some of the hot chocolate mix in a mason jar and add a ribbon or twine. If you have a little extra time, this goes really well paired with some homemade monogrammed mugs.

Now THAT is a mug of cocoa!
Glad to hear your plants survived. Lemons look good, too. Lucky you!
That’s what happens when my back it turned!
We’re up to our elbows in lemon juice. I’m struggling to say, enough on the zest…seems so wasteful to just not preserve it.
Thank you, Angi for the Hot Chocolate gift recipe. Have made Freeze Dried Strawberries, strawberry jam, Red tomato salsa and green tomato salsa for gifts for this Christmas. I will be using your hot chocolate recipe to make more gifts!
Wonderful!!! Your friends and family are going to be so blessed by your homemade gifts!
The instructions says “To make, fill cup about 1/2 full of mix and add hot water.” That’s a lot of mix. Are those amounts correct? 40 servings?
Just wondering 🤔
Yes, they are correct. Of course, you can start with less mix and add more if you want but if you want really yummy rich hot chocolate, you’ll want to fill the cup about half ways with the mix.
